If you’re like me, you’ve heard time and time again how important it is to get the proper protein intake. Our bodies need protein for healthy skin, hair, bones, and heart. Plus a protein-packed breakfast or snack can prevent overeating and a good dose of protein after strength and resistance training helps build and repair muscle tissue (especially when you consume a blend of proteins).
Smoothies are one of my favorite ways to get in a good amount of protein, along with other vitamins and minerals. Simply add in your choice of protein, like protein powder, Greek yogurt, or cottage cheese and then use other favorites to make your smoothie flavors interesting and fun, like Lemon Blueberry Muffin, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Apple Pie.
As an added plus, smoothies can be enjoyed for a breakfast, meal, snack, pre- or post-workout meal, or even a dessert.
