Healthy Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing
I’ve been at the mercy of buying Trader Joe’s Parmesan Ranch Dressing for far too long. Trader Joe’s dressing is very good and has decent ingredients, but what if I run out of the stuff? In comes Healthy Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing- creamy and healthier with that lovely classic ranch flavor we’ve all grown to love.
It’s made almost entirely with Greek yogurt, so there’s an added kick of protein that your store-bought ranch dressing doesn’t have. But what’s even better, this homemade version doesn’t come with any of the added ingredients you can’t pronounce.
Store seasoning in a container with an airtight lid and in a cool dry place for about 3 months. Don’t worry, it won’t last you that long. I’ve put this on everything from veggies to chips… it’s that good! So flavorful and fresh! And just wait for a twist on this ranch dressing coming atcha next week. Prepare for your mind to be blown. I also used Almond Breeze AlmondMilk Original instead of buttermilk or other milk products. I use AlmondMilk for everything, so I didn’t even question using it for my healthy ranch dressing. Buttermilk is typically the liquid ingredient in ranch dressing. In this recipe, though, the Greek yogurt provides the tangy flavor found in most ranch dressings. The creamy smooth texture and hint-of-almond taste make this nondairy beverage the perfect ingredient for homemade ranch dressing.
- For the seasoning mix:
- 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 2 teaspoons dill weed
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
- For Healthy Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing:
- 1/2 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup Almond Breeze AlmondMilk Original*
- 2 tablespoons organic mayo**
- 2 tablespoons homemade ranch dressing seasonings see recipe above
For the seasoning mix:
Whisk all seasonings together until well blended or pulse mixture several times in a food processor or shake seasonings together in a sealed jar.
Store seasonings in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
For Healthy Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing:
Simply stir all ingredients together in a container or jar with a lid and enjoy.
*If you prefer a thicker dressing, I would only use 1/4 cup almond milk to start and then add 1 tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
**Using mayo is optional and is really not necessary, but it adds a nice flavor. Many grocery stores are beginning to carry organic all-natural mayo products too.
***Seasoning makes about 3 dressing mixes.
****3 tablespoons this seasoning mix = 1 store-bought envelope packet of ranch dressing mix.
