The best-ever fluffy yogurt protein waffles require just 4 ingredients, 10 minutes and 1 bowl. They are thick, soft, perfectly sweet, and buttery! Made naturally gluten-free, so just about everyone can enjoy!
This recipe was written in partnership with Activia. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Yogurt is the not-so-secret ingredient that gives these fluffy protein waffles that light, crisp-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside quality. Yogurt not only makes for a fabulous taste and texture in waffles and other baked goods, but it also adds plenty of nutrition to this yummy breakfast.
My yogurt of choice in this recipe is Activia, because it’s not just any yogurt. Honestly, I’ve become a bit of a yogurt snob, thanks to my friends at Activia. The creaminess and the flavor – beyond delicious, I tell you! I’m a huge fan of the blueberry and strawberry varieties. I also really love that Activia is a yogurt I can feel good about eating.
In fact, Activia Yogurt inviting people to take part in the Activia Probiotic Two Week Challenge and enjoy the delicious yogurt twice a day for two weeks as part of a healthy lifestyle and simple step to self-care. Activia is packed with its exclusive probiotic culture, Bifidobacterium lactis DN-173 010/CNCM I-2494, was specifically selected because of its ability to effectively survive passage through the digestive system.

You may know that probiotics are healthy, but did you know the benefits of probiotics go way beyond basic nutrition? The probiotics in Activia can help support your digestive system and may help reduce the frequency of minor digestive discomfort like gas, bloating, abdominal discomfort and rumbling, which is especially important for moms because female hormones make digestive tracts more sensitive.
Activia comes in lowfat and nonfat yogurt and dairy drink varieties and provides a great source of probiotics and calcium to start your day.
Not only do I absolutely love using Activia in my protein waffles and other baked goods, but a good old-fashioned yogurt bowl with lots of fun toppings is one of my favorite breakfast items and snacks. The yogurt bowls are a perfect way to get your probiotics first thing in the morning to ensure that you won’t forget to include them in your day!
These Fluffy Yogurt Protein Waffles and yogurt bowls are what breakfast dreams are made of and I can’t wait for you guys to give them a go! They’re:
- So easy + tasty!
Perfect for lazy weekend mornings, try cooking up the waffles ahead of time and freeze a batch for busy weekdays. Super quick and easy to throw together – and the whole family is guaranteed to love them.
- 1 scoop (about 21-24 grams) protein powder, use gluten-free as needed
- 1/4 cup egg whites from a carton
- 2 tablespoons water + 1-2 tablespoons more, as needed for consistency
- 1/4 cup Activia yogurt (any flavor!)
- fruit, nut/seed butter, maple syrup and/or powdered sugar , for serving
- Spray waffle iron with nonstick cooking spray or grease with coconut oil and preheat.
In a small bowl, stir protein powder egg whites, Activia yogurt and water until mixture is fully combined. Add additional water if needed to gain preferred consistency. You will want the batter to be thick, but able to pour onto waffle iron.
Pour batter onto the waffle iron. My waffle iron is very large and this recipe will make one large waffle. Depending on the size of your waffle iron, you may need to make in batches.
Cook on high and according to waffle iron instructions. I like to let my waffle cook a couple extra minutes after the waffle iron indicates the waffle is cooked. This gives the waffle an extra crisp outer texture.
Serve waffle immediately with desired toppings.
Try making up a few batches on Sunday, to have a quick breakfast ready to go throughout the week. Waffles freeze well, up to 2 months. Reheat in toaster or microwave.
Nutritional facts could vary greatly depending on type of protein powder and yogurt used. My facts were calculated using Activia and Tone It Up vanilla protein powder.
