HOW TO MAKE THIS HOLIDAY DETOX PEAR SMOOTHIE:

I drink smoothies like it’s my job. Which it is, sometimes, sort of. Which is awesome.

Start by adding milk and spinach to your blender and blend on high for a few seconds. Next, add all other ingredients and blend until smooth. If your green smoothie is too thick, add a splash more of milk. If it’s too thin, add a few more ice cubes. For more sweetness, add extra frozen banana, a packet of stevia or a seeded date. Pour into a large glass and enjoy every delicious sip!

This Holiday Detox Pear Smoothie is what I’ve been making over the last few days to help balance out all of the holiday-ish recipes and NYC eats.

My eating has looked a little something like this:

Oh yeah, and how could I forget the most incredible cookies ever, from Levain Bakery?

It’s safe to say, I’ve been eating really good or bad depending on your perspective. 🙂

Cold
Slightly tart
Perfectly sweet
Refreshing
Loaded with nutrients
Simple
Fast
Naturally detoxifying (thanks to fiber!)
And perfect for hitting the reset button on your diet

This would be the perfect smoothie to add to your weekly line-up for breakfast or post-workout snacks. Pear and banana add a lovely sweetness, almond milk lends to a creamy base, pumpkin pie spice offers seasonal flavor and spinach gives us a slew of health benefits.

Feel your best with this healthy, nutrient-rich, recovery green smoothie! Loaded with powerful superfoods like spinach, pear, banana and cinnamon!
Author: Kim

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened dairy-free milk, I like vanilla cashew or vanilla almond milk

  • 1/2 banana, previously peeled, sliced & frozen
  • 1 small pear, cored
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cup ice

Instructions

  • Add milk and spinach to blender and blend on high for a few seconds. Add all other ingredients and blend until smooth. If too thick, add a splash more milk. If too thin, add a few more ice cubes. For more sweetness, add extra frozen banana, a packet of stevia or a seeded date.
