Popping in on this steamy hot (if you’re in Texas) Wednesday, to share a few of my recent favorite things that you SO need in your life. I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far. It’s been a good one here, just super busy. The kids and I spent the day, yesterday, making our normal grocery runs and that pretty much took all day. Still a fun day, though, since I’m one of those weird people that enjoys grocery shopping. I know, but I’m a food blogger, so what do you expect?!
It’s been years since I’ve written a post like this, but it seems there are always things popping up that I want to share and never get around to it. I do share some on Instagram stories, but I know tons of people miss that and it’s only available for 24 hours so that’s not always helpful. Depending on what you guys think of this post and if it truly gives you some things to check into or try out, I may make it a regular feature. So, be sure to comment and let me know what you think.
Okay, enough of the rambling, let’s get to it!
- Summer clothes, especially styles from prAna
I’ve heard such great things about the clothing from prAna, around the blogging community and I finally took the plunge and ordered a couple of staple items to wear on the regular this summer. I could not be more pleased with the fit and quality of what I received.
There were so many cute choices, but I ultimately settled on Olivia shorts in cargo green. They don’t appear to be stretchy, but they had an awesome stretch quality that made them super comfy. I would say both items run true to size. I’m wearing a size 4 short and small top. It looks like the top I ordered is no longer available, but how cute is this Midsummer Tank? I may be placing another order very soon!
If you decide to place an order too, use code MSS17KC to get 15% off your total purchase, now through July 13th! What a deal!!
- Passion Tea from Starbucks
I’ve been a huge fan of these forever. I researched the ingredients and even asked the barista if I could see the box they use to make the tea and it appears to be 100% Whole30 approved. So glad I can still get my tea on! Although, I definitely do miss the added sweetness from stevia.
- Microblading from BrowGenius
Have you followed my Instagram stories? If not, you should. Just kidding, but not really! A couple of months ago, you may have caught a story that went up right before and right after I had my first microblading treatment. With microblading, it’s always necessary to have a follow-up treatment about 6-8 weeks after your first treatment. I’ve finally went through the whole process and have completely healed and I can’t say enough GREAT things about my overall microblading experience and Whitney Moon of BrowGenius.
I seriously hate these close up photos, but to give you the full effect of my results it was pretty much necessary. Obviously, on the left is before and then at right was taken yesterday. Before my eyebrows were not symmetrical at all and very thin.
- Everything But the Bagel Sesame Seasoning and Seasoning Salt from Trader Joe’s
If you caught my Paleo Sweet Potato Breakfast Bowls from earlier this week, then you saw a glimpse of my favorite Whole30 compliant seasonings. If you’ve ever completed a Whole30, you know it’s all about the seasonings. Making meals as flavorful as possible, while still sticking with the rules is the name of the game. Whole30 or not, these seasonings are fab and super cheap too. Always a plus in my book!
Recipe Flashback – An oldie, but a goodie!
Over at the Lee household, we have more tomatoes than we know what to do with. That means jars and jars of the best damn salsa you’ve ever tasted. Seriously… it REALLY is the best damn salsa you’ve ever tasted. If you don’t believe me, read all of the feedback on the most popular post to appear on this site, or the comments on the most popular pin I’ve ever pinned, or better yet, give it a try for yourself. I added the handy dandy video below to give you a sneak peak. If you don’t happen to have garden tomatoes readily available, I strongly suggest grabbing some up from a farmer’s market. There’s truly nothing like a garden tomato and it will make this salsa taste that much better.
