Jazz up your waffles with a quick, easy, figure-friendly cherry almond compote!
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cherries pitted
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • dash of cloves
  • almond slivers
  1. Combine all ingredients in a microwavable bowl.
  2. Heat in the microwave for 20 second increments until compote is of desired warmth.
  3. Use compote to top waffles, pancakes, French toast, yogurt, oatmeal and/or cottage cheese. Add desired amount of almond slivers.

For serving more than one- just double, triple or quadruple the recipe.
