Trader Joe's Favorites and Weekly Meal Plan
Last Sunday, I shared my favorites from Costco and today I’m sharing my Trader Joe’s favorites with you. This is by no means all of the items from Trader Joe’s that I buy, but just some that I have bought recently and love.
I absolutely love Trader Joe’s produce. They have lots of organic products at low prices. Those baby beets are soooo good cut up in salads!
My kiddos love Trader Joe’s snacks. They always like bars for an after school snack and they really like the cats cookies and rocket crackers. I personally love the ak-mak crackers. They have really great nutritional stats and are great with salads or with a little nut butter spread over the top. Just mango slices are so addicting and a great snack, if you’re wanting a little something tart. We all love the Luna bars!
All great products that I buy often. The black refried beans are especially tasty. I’ve tried several different brands of black refried beans and these are by far the best.
Trader Joe’s turkey bacon and lunch meat is the absolute best, has no nitrates, and is very reasonably priced. I will always be a Chobani lover, but Trader Joe’s Greek yogurt is pretty good. It’s not pictured, but worth mentioning…..my VERY picky daughter is absolutely in love with the tubes of yogurt from TJ’s.
TJ’s almond milk is our favorite. Compared to other brands it seems way thicker and creamier, which makes it a perfect addition to coffee. If you’ve been reading very long than you know that I think this salad is the bomb….I pretty much have one every week. Also, if you haven’t tried the sweet apple chicken sausage or the eggplant hummus….you must try these two products ASAP!!
A few products from the frozen food section that I frequently pick up are shown below. The Roasted Vegetable Lasagna has great nutritional stats and is delicious, even my very picky eaters like it. Although not the healthiest options, Alexis and Landen are major fans of the deep dish and mini pizzas. My VERY favorite frozen veggie burger is the Dr. Praeger’s California veggie burger. It has the best flavor and they’re so convenient.
Now onto the weekly meal plan…. Well, this past week there were lots of after school activities that came up that I was not anticipating. So, unfortunately, it was very difficult to stick to the meal plan and we grabbed dinner out more than usual. Life happens! You’ll notice that a few of these meals were on the menu from last week, but I didn’t get to make them. So, we’ll give it another try.
Sunday- Grilled or baked fish and veggies
Monday- Black Bean Chili This was on the menu for last week, but didn’t get made. It will be the perfect meal to enjoy for Cinco de Mayo!
Tuesday- Late night with horse riding and gymnastics. We’ll probably grab something out.
Wednesday- Homemade pizza with Trader Joe’s pizza dough
Thursday- This will be another late gymnastics night. I’ll probably bring a salad.
Friday- Wing it!
As you can see, I won’t be doing much cooking next week. I’m just not feeling it…some weeks are just like that.
