Staying the Path During the Summer
Happy Monday, friends!
A great Monday for me… the first of 8 to be on summer break and off from work! A few things I’m looking forward to, while on break; Miami vacation, more time for family, sharing additional recipes, completing an e-cookbook, morning workouts, lazy days, grilling out and pool parties. Even with all of the summer fun I have planned, I WILL make “staying the path during the summer” a priority.
What do I mean by, staying the path during the summer?
I’ve teamed up with Fitfluential and Calia by Carrie Underwood to share my tips for staying the path during the summer! Before I get to those tips, watch the video below to hear what Carrie has to say about staying the path. Her mentality on living a healthy lifestyle is right in line with how I feel. It’s all about taking those small steps each day to be your best self!
Not only does Carrie Underwood have a great message for women, regarding taking care of our bodies and finding balance in living healthfully, but she also has a kick butt new line of fitness wear. Calia by Carrie Underwood is stylish workout gear that performs just as hard as you do. I adore the attention to detail in all of the clothing that I’ve worn; from the seamless lines and soft fabric to the inspirational message hidden in my tank.
Tips for Staying the Path During the Summer
So the weather’s warmer, you’re hitting up all of the barbecues and it’s so hot outside all you feel like doing is kicking back with a mojito in hand. What’s a girl to do?
- Moderation- It’s important to take time to enjoy your summer and/or any vacation you may have planned, but everything in moderation. When I’m on vacation, I definitely splurge here and there, I just don’t eat everything in sight.
- Change it up- Exercise comes in all forms and summer is the perfect time to try something new. If you typically run outside, cool off inside by trying a group fitness class. If the treadmill’s your thing, go hit the weight room. Remember variety is the spice of life… and it’s great for your body too!
- Find a motivator- Motivation is different for everyone… what motivates me, may not necessarily motivate you. Having a goal or something that gets you excited about working out and staying fit can really help you stay the path to healthy living. Visiting Miami Beach in July is a pretty big motivator, for me, to continue hitting the gym. New fitness gear or running shoes always get me excited about working out too. I have to admit, I wasn’t too sure about CALIA printed tights. I always wear black or very dark solid colored tights, but the classic floral print (shown below) is pretty gorgeous. How could I not love these? They’re super comfortable with a nice high waist and no falling down or riding up while running.
- Enjoy Nature’s Bounty- some of my favorite fresh seasonal fruits and veggies are at their organic best. Don’t miss out on fun summer party food, just be sure to mostly be eating clean. I follow the 80/20 rule. 80% of what I eat is clean, all-natural foods and 20% or less (sometimes) may be something processed, packaged or a sweet treat.

Do you have any tips for staying the path this summer?
Have you worn any of the CALIA workout gear? You can find CALIA by Carrie exclusively at DICK’S Sporting Goods and caliastudio.com.
I also had the opportunity to try out the Double Braided Twist Headband and the Inner Power Perforated Bra. Both products seriously rocked. The headband kept my hair back with no slipping and the bra had the cutest fit. I love the flattering style of the front and the breathable fabric for was so appreciated during a sweaty 6 mile run.
