It’s been one heck of a week, but whew….thank goodness it’s coming to an end.

Honestly, I’ve been pretty stressed this whole week and I’m ready for this weekend, so that I can decompress and relax. Even better, this weekend will be a three-day weekend!

How do you stay stress-free or at least try to keep the stress at bay?

Although not the healthiest way to deal with stress, I’ve been known to bake and nibble devour on something sweet. In a state of stress, cookies are usually what I crave. At least these Chia Seed Peanut Butter Oat Cookies aren’t too bad for the waistline. 😉


Even if you feel like digging a whole and just climbing in, believe me, you WILL feel better if you move. Studies show that working out releases endorphins, which act as a natural antidepressant. As an added bonus, while you’re working out, you probably won’t even be able to think about what had you stressed out in the first place.


Get outside and enjoy the nature around you. Being outside and enjoying the fresh air {particularly when the temperature is perfect} always makes me feel a little more at peace. When the weather is beautiful, one of my favorite things to do after I’m home from work, is take Max for a walk. It gives me a chance to just be by myself and think about the goings on of the day and anything else that may be weighing on my mind.


When something is really bothering you, sometimes actually spending time by yourself is the last thing you need and it can really help to be around other people. You may not be in the mood to do something really lively, but it may help to get together with a really good friend to talk things out. For me personally, I always feel better when I talk things through with my mom.


If at all possible, laugh it off. Now I know this won’t work for every stressful situation in life, but who doesn’t feel better after a good laugh?
