Skinnygirl Snack Swap

You guys know how I love my snacks! I could, honestly, probably snack all day if there were no such thing as calories. 🙂 I do try to eat healthier snacks; such as veggies and hummus or fruit and almond butter, but sometimes ice cream is all I want. We’ve all been there, right?
Did you know the average American consumes 25 percent of their daily calories from snacks? Wowsers! With all this snacking, it’s important to have a snack plan, so you can keep your healthy diet in check. I know, sometimes it seems easier to just run to the vending machine, but if you’ve got nutritious bars or nuts and fruit on hand you’ll probably feel more satisfied and you won’t be sabotaging all your hard work.
I’m sure you’ve heard of the yummy Skinnygirl wines and cocktails, but Skinnygirl has a new product to help us with our healthy snacking. Through my partnership with FitFluential, I was able to give the Skinnygirl tasty nutrition bars a try. There are three scrumptious varieties; Banana Oatmeal Dark Chocolate, Chocolate Peanut Butter with Sea Salt and Dark Chocolate Pretzel. Please don’t make me pick a favorite!!!
Each of the Skinnygirl tasty nutrition bars have a wonderful flavor and is the perfect swap for things like cookies and chips. The Skinnygirl tasty nutrition bars have 170 calories or less, are an excellent source of protein and good source of fiber. Skinnygirl is also launching a really cool Snack Swap initiative. Check out the Snack Swap website where you can find healthier alternatives to many favorite snacks. The Skinnygirl Snack Swap website features a playful tool that asks users to choose their favorite snack and then personally picks healthier options to match that craving.
I came across lots of yummy healthy snack options to try on the Skinnygirl Snack Swap website. The Salted Raw Chocolate Caramel Dip really caught my eye, though. It’s all natural and contains very few ingredients, plus I knew it would be perfect with one of my favorite fruits- apples.
This healthy Salted Raw Chocolate Caramel Dip is absolutely amazing. I couldn’t stay out of it and Landen finished it off! It’s crazy that blended dates tastes so much like caramel. What a perfect snack swap!!!!
Salted Raw Chocolate Caramel Dip
- 1 cup soft Medjool dates, pitted
- 1/4 tsp fine sea salt, or more to taste
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup almond milk, plus extra for desired texture
- 2 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- If you're using a standard blender or food processor, begin by soaking the dates in filtered water for 2 to 3 hours, until soft. If you own a powerful blender, like the Vitamix, there's no need to soak.
- Combine all of the ingredients in the blender, and blend until smooth and creamy, adding extra almond milk, if necessary, to facilitate blending.
- Adjust flavors to taste, and chill before serving. Scoop out 2 tablespoons and spread on slices from one medium apple.
