Year of Yes: How to Dance It Out, Stand In the Sun and Be Your Own Person
Amazing read that anyone can relate to. I listened to this on Audible, which was awesome because Shonda Rhimes actually tells the story.
The Silent Sister
This is a page turner, with surprising twists and turns, you won’t want to put it down.
The Help
The Help is one of the best books I’ve ever read. I connected so much to the characters. I wept during the hard chapters and found myself laughing out loud at times. The movie was really good too!
Eating in the Middle: A Mostly Wholesome Cookbook
I have followed Andie’s blog for years. This book is a perfect mix of healthier recipes (with nutritional info and a picture for every recipe) and her witty stories. I’ve made several recipes from this book and they were all great.
The Skinnytaste Cookbook: Light on Calories, Big on Flavor
Gina’s blog is one of my favorites and her cookbook is fabulous too. This cookbook is organized well, has gorgeous photos and is great for someone who is looking to start eating healthy but is unsure of what to cook.
Magnolia Table: A Collection of Recipes for Gathering
This cookbook includes a lot of practical, special family recipes with normal, easily accessible ingredients; some used at their restaurant. I’ve made several of the recipes with success.
Cravings: Recipes for All the Food You Want to Eat
I was a little skeptical since it’s a celebrity cookbook. A month later, I am reaching for this book almost exclusively over others. Everything I’ve made (15 recipes so far) has hit it out of the park.
Hunger Games Trilogy
The Hunger Games Trilogy is so good!! I enjoyed the books and movies so much. The first book was probably my favorite, but I didn’t want any of them to end. I listened to them on audible.com while walking Max and I was never so excited to take him on his walk each day!
The Almost Moon
Another great one from Alice Sebold! A woman steps over the line into the unthinkable in this brilliant, powerful, and unforgettable new novel by the author of The Lovely Bones and Lucky.
Lovely Bones
By the same author as Lucky, I absolutely love this book. I know it’s a movie now and I haven’t seen it, but the book is great.
Lucky
This is a memoir that one of my favorite authors wrote, about being raped in college. Alice Sebold has a way of really pulling you into the story; like you’re actually right there with the characters.
Drowning Ruth
A definite page turner that will keep you guessing and on your toes until you’ve turned the last page. I recommended this for a book club selection with my book club group and everyone loved it.
