Delicious, fluffy and light… ProCakes Protein Pancakes! So yummy I want to marry these! 😉
I think most of you guys are well aware that I LOVE pancakes. In fact, next to waffles, they are the best breakfast ever. I’ve been known to eat them for not only breakfast, but lunch and dinner too. If you don’t believe me, check out my Instagram! 🙂
I enjoy experimenting with different flours and other ingredients to make delicious, yet nutritious pancakes. I will admit, though, sometimes when I’m in a hurry or just feeling a little lazy; it’s great to have a healthy pancake mix to make things a little easier.
When I was offered the chance to try ProCakes through FitFluential, I was definitely interested. I’m never one to pass on pancakes, but I was also a little unsure if I would really enjoy these. If you’re a longtime reader, you’ve probably gathered I’m not much of a protein powder person. I usually opt to get my protein from my meals. Most protein, to me, is chalky and adds an unpleasant, unnatural flavor to foods.
The batch of pancakes that you see pictured are the single serving sample that I received from ProCakes to review. I made them for dinner, one night, this past week. I ate them exactly the way you see in the picture- a little drizzle of honey and a handful of blueberries. OMG… I’m in love with these!!!
My ProCakes had the perfect texture… light and fluffy. They were absolutely scrumptious, too. I noticed a very faint lovely sweetness (even on my pieces that didn’t have honey on them), there was no chalkiness or weird, fake flavor. They also kept me really full through the night, just like a normal dinner would.
To make ProCakes, you mix 1 egg and 1/3 to 1/2 cup 2% milk and then add the ProCakes mix- that’s all. I used almond milk instead of regular milk. This worked perfectly… there was no dryness or crumbling of the pancakes.
While searching on the ProCakes website; I actually noticed that you can make waffles with the ProCakes pancake mix. They have lots of recipe ideas here, under the menu title “Cake Love”. You can also read about ProCakes’ nutrition philosophy, here– I’m down! Get a complete list of ingredients, here. Buy your own ProCakes pancake mix, here!! You won’t be disappointed!
