Summer is officially on the horizon, which means kiwi and pineapple season is here!

In my opinion, kiwi and pineapples don’t get used nearly as often as they should in recipes. It’s time to switch up your salsa game and forget about tomatoes for a while. I’m here to show you kiwi and pineapples totally belong in your go-to summer salsa!

Ingredients in kiwi pineapple salsa:

I love using Zespri SunGold Kiwifruit in this salsa recipe. Have you tried a SunGold Kiwi? They are naturally yellow and sweeter than the green kiwifruit. I think the flavor is a cross between a strawberry and a mango, so they work just perfect in this recipe. Plus, they’re packed with nutrients! Serving to serving, Zespri SunGold Kiwifruit has 3x the vitamin C of an orange. Winning!

The ingredients in this kiwi pineapple salsa include: Zespri SunGold Kiwifruit, sweet pineapple, creamy avocado, crunchy red bell pepper, jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice and salt and pepper. So fresh and delicious!

How to make kiwi pineapple salsa:

Making this kiwi pineapple salsa is super easy. All you have to do is chop a few ingredients then add them to a bowl, stir and grab some chips for dipping!

Start off by peeling and cutting the kiwi. I like to buy precut pineapple to keep things really simple, but you can use this tutorial for cutting the pineapple. Then cut your avocado into chunks and add to a large bowl. Stir in diced red pepper, diced jalapeño, diced red onion, chopped cilantro, a squeeze of fresh lime juice and salt and pepper. Taste and adjust seasonings as necessary. YUM!

Ways to use kiwi pineapple salsa:

Personally, I love to dip tortilla chips in this salsa, but there’s plenty of other ways to use it too! You can top grilled chicken, salmon, tacos, burrito bowls, grain bowls, mix in with quinoa or even use on top of salads.
