Thanks Van’s Foods for sponsoring this post and helping me create crazy fun waffle bar ideas!

It’s no secret that if I had to pick one breakfast to eat for the rest of my life, waffles would be my pick. They are so versatile- there are countless ways to dress them up. From savory to sweet, waffles are scrumptious, satisfying and a major crowd-pleaser. Who doesn’t love a good waffle?  This brings me to the fun idea of hosting a waffle bar party.

Van’s wholesome waffles are my go-to and this waffle bar is next level! Van’s waffles are Non-GMO project verified, contain no artificial flavors, colors, preservatives, or hydrogenated oils and they’re soooooo scrumptious.

Fruit, whipped topping and maple syrup are always safe bets to include on your spread. Let’s be honest, there are some people who are going to want to stick with what’s safe. But for your more adventurous bunch, let’s take a look at a few of my favorite nontraditional waffle toppings.

Waffles are truly a blank canvas and can take on the taste of whatever you’re craving. Whip up my easy, good-for-you turkey sloppy joe recipe (this recipe will go live 1/13/16 and there will be a link provided) and toss the buns for Van’s waffles. This is the perfect choice for those of you following a gluten-free diet, just be sure to use Van’s Gluten Free Totally Original waffles. They are certified gluten-free by the Gluten-free Certification Organization and made with 23 grams of gluten-free whole grains, including brown rice, and are sweetened with fruit juice for a light, crispy, delicious taste that is also egg- and dairy-free.

One of my favorite appetizers is smoked salmon with cream cheese and capers. Instead of using crackers to hold your goodies, what could be better than a waffle?!?! See the instructions for my salmon bites below and just spread your cream cheese over a Van’s waffle rather than using the cracker or toast. So deliciously satisfying! The slightly sweet whole grain waffle balances out the salty salmon perfectly.
