Hi guys! I’m hitting the road early this morning to watch Landen’s state gymnastics meet. It’s several hours away, so we have quite a bit of driving to do today. Because today’s such a busy day, I took care of meal planning and grocery runs yesterday. I hit up my two favorites; Costco and Trader Joe’s. I needed lots of groceries this weekend, so this is the perfect time to share some of my favorite finds from Costco with you. I’ll bring you Trader Joe favorites in another post.

These are definitely not the only products that I buy at Costco, but this is the majority of them.

The Food Should Taste Good Mulitgrain chips are a must…best chips ever! This was actually the first time that I’ve seen these Kashi crackers at my Costco, but I’ve had them before and they go great with salads or dipped in hummus. The Doctor Krackers are also really good with salads and the ingredient list is superb. My Costco also carries Mary’s Gone Crackers, which I frequently buy. They are gluten-free and have a great ingredient list. My husband, especially, eats lots of brown rice and these bowls are really quick and convenient for him to take with him to work.

Buying Stevia at Costco is fabulous because it’s much cheaper buying it in bulk and we go through it pretty quickly, so it’s great to have a large amount on hand. My husband’s two favorite Costco items are the pure local honey and the Maranatha Almond Butter. This almond butter is just almonds and that’s it. It’s also only about $6 for this large jar and at my regular grocery store it’s about $6 for a small jar, plus it contains organic cane sugar as an added ingredient.

I love that Costco carries wild caught salmon, which is really much better for you. It’s pretty expensive, but not near as expensive as buying fresh wild salmon from the grocery store. A large bag of about 8 individually wrapped fillets is about $27. The organic frozen chicken breast are also all individually wrapped. Amy’s burritos are a convenient quick meal and they have really good nutritional stats. Love Amy’s products!

These Trident salmon burgers put Trader Joe’s salmon burgers to shame. Trident also has a Mahi Mahi burger that is equally delicious. Shrimp from Costco is cheaper than my regular grocery store and I love having a huge bag, so that we always have leftovers. This Tilapia is so good on the grill. It’s individually wrapped, the fillets are really thick and need just a bit of seasoning before tossing them in the oven or on the grill. We frequently serve them over salads.

One of my favorite things from Costco are these large tubs of organic greens and spinach. Sometimes I also buy the large bag of organic kale. If you’ve been reading very long than you know that I’m a major salad lover. I go through salad greens really quick, so it’s a must for me to have a large amount on hand. The price on Costco’s greens is also much better than my local grocery stores. I always pick up a large bag of Brussels and bananas….my husband goes through both of these like they’re going out of style! 😉

A few other products that I frequently buy from Costco are Clif Bars, Kashi and Nature’s Path cereal, oats, organic salsa, coconut oil, Flat-outs, bread for the kids, dog food, dog treats and organic berries.

And for weekly meal planning…..

I’m linking up with Mommy Run Fast and Fitness, Health, and Happiness to bring you my weekly meal plan. Head on over to check out more meal planning inspiration!!

Here’s the plan, it doesn’t always happen, but at least I have an idea of what I’d like to make for the week. If I don’t end up making something that’s on the plan, I usually make it the next week.

Monday- Landen has been begging me to make my Busy Mom’s Pesto Pasta and I’m going to give in and make it for him. 😉

Tuesday- Gymnastics night….I plan on taking my favorite Trader Joe’s salad to the gym and grabbing something for the kids.

Wednesday- Southwestern Stuffed Bell Peppers

Thursday- Black Bean Chili recipe from the Jillian Michaels Master Your Metabolism Cookbook….I haven’t made this yet and I’m anxious to give it a try.

Friday- Homemade pizza with Trader Joe’s pizza dough

Something to think about….

Do you make a meal plan each week or just go with the flow?

Have you ever shopped at Costco or Sam’s? Any favorites?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I’ll see you back here tomorrow for Marvelous in my Monday!
