Just a little tease of what’s to come…..


Last week I received a very special delivery from Food for Life; their brand new bread, Ezekiel 4:9 Flax Sprouted Whole Grain Bread. I was really excited to try this product out because I buy regular Ezekiel 4:9® Sprouted Whole Grain Bread from Food for Life every week and, also, often purchase the Ezekiel 4:9® Cinnamon Raisin Whole Grain Bread. I’ve loved all of the Food for Life products that I’ve tried, so I fully expected to love this new flax Ezekiel bread and let me tell you, I do!! This bread has a lovely heartiness that is simply delicious. One night last week, I actually was craving a simple peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I used the new Ezekiel Flax bread and it was wonderful. Just look at that seedy fluffiness……


Since I was loving this bread so much, I just had to come up with an extra special recipe designed especially for the Ezekiel flax bread. I couldn’t think of anything more divine than stuffed French toast.

I decided to stuff the French toast with some of my very favorite ingredients…..1 tbsp Chobani Greek yogurt, 1 tsp nutbutter, banana and blueberries. Mash the banana and combine with the nutbutter and yogurt. I heated the yogurt mixture in the microwave for about 15 seconds, just to take the chill off.


I even used Chobani’s brand new banana flavor. It was perfect! Chobani’s blueberry flavor or Chobani Champions banana honey would also be fabulous in this recipe.


Start off by dredging your two pieces of bread in 2 egg whites that have been combined with 1 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Pan-fry your bread over medium-high heat for about 3 mins on each side and until the egg is set.


Once your French Toast is thoroughly cooked, plate it and spread your yogurt mixture over the top of one piece of the bread and add blueberries on the yogurt. Place the other piece of toast on top {sandwich style}.


Top with your favorites….Pure maple syrup, diced banana and blueberries were perfect!! Enjoy….I know you will!! For the full printable recipe, see my recipage.
