(the necklace worn above is a new Kendra Scott find and it’s one of my favorites because it goes with everything)
For this fix, in the notes for my stylist, Tiff, I let her know I wanted some colorful spring skinny jeans, a larger size in the Dear John Shorts (the shorts from last month were a wee bit short). I also requested a petite wrap dress to try and, of course, I filled my Pinterest board with lots of fun items.
Yes, I knew my stylist would be Tiff. Did you know that you can actually request a specific stylist? May 2016 Stitch Fix Review
Ciara D’Orsay Espadrille Flats by Dolce Vita | 7 | 100.00 | Return
I was pretty excited to see these shoes in my shipment, since they were an item I had pinned on my style Pinterest board. However, they were a bit too large and since I typically wear closer to a 6.5 size shoe I’ve updated my Stitch Fix profile to reflect this. Although the shoes are really cute and comfy, I’m not so sure they fit my personal style. I’m more of a flip flop girl, in the spring and summer. I also tend to prefer a wedge or heel. If you’re digging them, though, you can find the exact same shoe (different colors) on the Nordstrom website.
Lillie Striped Cuffed Short by Dear John | 4 | 68.00 | Keep
You may remember from my April “Fix” that I had received some white Dear John cuffed shorts in a size 2. They fit my athletic quads a bit too snuggly, so I requested a size up in any color. Tiff delivered and I love this coloring even more!
(Kendra Scott earrings– love these, as they go with everything. I received them from RocksBox- use my code for a your first month free- kimlbff3)
These Dear John shorts are soooooo soft and comfy. The material is not your average stiff denim. It’s much thinner and softer. I will be wearing these all summer for sure! I was unable to find a striped cuff short like these, but if you’re on the hunt for a cuffed jean short, check these out. The shirt I paired with the jean shorts with the Simpson Halter Blouse from my 2nd Stitch Fix.
Lin Faux Wrap Jersey Dress by Donna Morgan | 4P | 118.00 | Return
Another item I requested was a wrap dress. I don’t currently own a wrap dress and I really wanted to try one. I asked to be given a petite, as I didn’t want it to go past my knee. I’ve seen a few other Stitch Fix wrap dresses and they all seemed a little longer. While I think wrap dresses are super flattering, I’m just not crazy about this one. It’s not a true wrap dress and I never could quite figure out the tie situation. I’m also not crazy about the patterning. I love pink, but this was a bit too loud for me. It is super comfortable- a jersey material, so if it speaks to you by all means pin away.
You can find Donna Morgan print jersey dresses at Nordstorm and they’re on sale right now. I have my eye on this one!
Dorianna Skinny Jean by Lila Ryan | 4 | 98.00 | Keep
I cannot even express to you how much I’m in love with these cobalt blue skinny jeans. Like the shorts above, they’re super soft and made of a thinner material than your typical denim. I had a pair of bright pink ones pinned and I’m so glad Tiff sent the blue ones, even though she didn’t have any pink ones in my size. Now I want them in every color!!
I’ve already worn them twice and I know they will get tons of wear, so I was okay with the $98 price tag. I can wear them to work and even out for a casual date night. Did I mention I love these pants? I couldn’t find the exact brand, so I’m thinking it’s exclusively for Stitch Fix, but I did find some other cobalt blue skinny jeans that look almost identical at the same price.
My absolute favorite sandal flip flop type shoe are the OluKai Kaula Lios (pictured above) and you can find them by clicking the link, but at this time they’re only available in select sizes and on sale.
Diaz Crochet Detail Top by BRIXON IVY | XS | 74.00 | Return
I knew when I took this top out of the box, it wasn’t for me. Looking at the pictures, I do see that it is cute and pairs well with the cobalt blue jeans. It makes me think grandma, though. It’s too gauzy, lacy, the shoulders are too puffy and the price tag is too high. However, if I would have loved it, I probably would have spent the $74.
You can see a similar gauzy white top here. Since I was definitely sending back the too large shoes and the Donna Morgan dress, there was really no reason to keep it. I will say that I need a white top in my closet. After receiving this, I realized I don’t have anything similar and I think it would be a great staple piece to have.
