Coming out of the holidays where sweets and treats are everywhere you turn around, I’m craving greens and all things nourishing. And at the start of the new year, I like to reflect on the past several months and look ahead to what I want for the next year. I don’t necessarily make resolutions, but I definitely always have new goals in sight that I challenge myself to reach.

After completing the 21 Day Fix EXTREME last year, I’ve set my sights on Autumn’s newest workout and nutrition challenge, Hammer and Chisel. I’m SO excited to be starting today! Giving myself the challenge of a new workout plan is my favorite way to stay motivated and keep exercise fun.

Now just because I’ll be eating clean foods doesn’t mean I don’t need a little something to satisfy my sweet tooth. This Peanut Butter Cup Superfood Smoothie does that and more! Perfect pre or post-workout to truly energize your body, fuel your muscles and delight your tastebuds!

Peanut butter and chocolate is a winning combination no matter how it’s paired. For a low calorie, low sugar treat with amazing flavor, I mixed in Jif Peanut Powder instead of peanut butter. Jif Peanut Powder has 85% less fat than regular peanut butter and is made with just one ingredient- fresh roasted peanuts, making it perfect for keeping those diets and cleanses in check.

I was able to easily find Jif Peanut Powder, while shopping at Walmart, conveniently located near the traditional peanut butter products.

Not only is this peanut butter cup smoothie full of deliciousness and superfoods to make you feel wonderful, it’s also really easy to whip up. You can just mix all ingredients together, but I decided to make things a little more interesting and create and layer two different smoothies, to make sure you get chocolate and peanut butter in every bite.

The cast of characters include chocolate protein powder (cocoa can also be used), Jif Peanut Powder, banana, spinach, celery, cucumber, ice and Silk Almond Milk. I love the addition of Silk Almond Milk in my smoothies because it keeps them dairy-free and makes them oh so smooth.

For my first layer, I blended ice, Silk Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk, Jif Peanut Powder, spinach and banana.

Notes

-Frozen fruit work best in smoothies to give it a creamier consistency, but you can also use unfrozen.
-Before freezing bananas, remember to peel first.
-Creating this smoothie with layers is not necessary. Feel free to just blend everything together at once, start with just about one cup of almond milk, though, and add more as needed for preferred taste and consistency.
