Who doesn’t love comfort food when it’s freezing outside? But if you’re like most, you’re trying to cut down on calories, post holidays. The lovely blogger, Consuelo from Honey & Figs put together a spectacular looking round-up of over 60 comfort food healthy makeover recipes. She was so sweet to include my Healthier Italian Goulash; which is a family favorite around here. Head on over to her site and pin the round-up image, so that you can refer back to all of these fabulous recipes through the winter!

Head over to The Skinny on Health, today, and check out Lisa’s interview with me. She is such a sweetie and very knowledgeable when it comes to nutrition and health. She contacted me about collaborating and I checked out her blog and immediately wanted to work with her. Not only will she be posting an interview with me, but I’m also sharing my recipe for Maple Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Cranberries, Walnuts and Feta Cheese. You just thought Brussels sprouts were gross!

Another fun thing going on at The Skinny on Health– Tuesday (1/14) will be her very first “Fit Tip Tuesday” link up. Bloggers can share a new workout tip, kitchen shortcut, or any other healthy living tricks they’ve been using lately. Of course, she would love to have a huge group link up, so be thinking about those healthy living tricks you use! Also, don’t miss her giveaway on Friday. She’ll be giving away a 3-day cleanse.

One thing I would like to do this year is track my mileage. I downloaded a free app to enter the miles from each of my runs. I’m really not concerned with my pace or what type of run it was. I would just like a total number of miles at the end of the year. This app is just okay, so if you use one that you love, please let me know what it is. 36 miles for the year, so far. The other info is not accurate because I only entered for a couple of the days.

I’ve never been much on hot tea, but ever since my Keurig broke I’ve been drinking hot tea in the evenings. I’m really starting to like green tea and I’m really anxious to try some different flavors. Another great thing about this is the Conscious Cleanse starts Saturday and coffee is a no-no, but green tea is A-Okay. I think I can survive the two weeks of the cleanse! 😉

Off to go watch a little Bachelor before bed, so to wrap this post up…….

Do you like Brussels sprouts? If no, I’m convinced you just haven’t had them cooked the right way. 😉

Anyone have a good suggestion of an app that will keep track of my mileage?

Any hot tea flavor suggestions? I need to venture out!

Hope you’ve had a great week, so far! I have to say, I’ve had a pretty great first week back to work. Let’s just hope this continues.

Congratulations on all the features, girl! Totally well-deserved — your recipes always look so delicious. And while I can’t recommend an app to track your mileage, I can definitely suggest a tea. My absolute favourite is Hot Cinnamon Spice from Harney & Sons. I have to order mine online, but it’s totally worth it. I’ve been drinking it on a daily basis, and I don’t think I could ever get tired of it. And have you ever had the Egyptian Licorice tea from Yogi? That’s another favourite for sure.

Thanks for sharing my link up and giveaway! I tried the Brussels sprouts recipe you shared on TSOH last night and they were AMAZING!! Can’t wait to see what you share on Fit Tip Tuesday! :)

I’m also on a major hot tea kick right now! I detoxed from coffee over the holidays, so green tea has been a savior! If you really need the coffee “kick in the ass” without the coffee, try Yerba Mata tea!

Yes, they are a little on the stinky side. I warmed some up in the microwave in a classroom at work, recently and the kiddos were not too happy. 😉

    Greetings Kim,
After the holidays it’s a push to get back in shape. So I’m almost back to running 4 – 5 miles a day. But after I run I do like to eat well. Your post has given me a plethora of food ideas to choose from. Your “Healthier Italian Goulash” looks really good! I like how you “hid” the vegetables in there!

So I’ll have to try that after a run! Thanks for the yummy post!
