A Marvelous Weekend Review

Good morning! Welcome to Marvelous in my Monday, hosted by the lovely Katie from Healthy Diva Life. It is definitely a marvelous Monday, for me, because I have the day off from work. Oh, aren’t three-day weekends just the best ever!?!?

It was a wonderful weekend and here are some highlights!

Saturday morning I was up bright and early to hit the gym. I got in a 5 mile run before Body Pump started. Last Saturday, was my first Body Pump class since all of the marathon training. Let me tell you…. I don’t think I have ever been so sore in my life. Yikes! Notice my new Altra Zero Drop running shoes. They’re pretty awesome. Altra is one of the sponsors for the ZOOMA race and since I’m an ambassador for the Austin run in April, they were generous enough to send me a free pair to try out. If you want to run with me in Austin, use discount code TXAMB4 for 10% off. After getting cleaned up from an awesome workout sesh, I made my way into Fort Worth. I had some errands to run and it was time to hit up my two favorite places; Trader Joe’s and Costco.

Trader Joe's

The temperature has been beautiful this weekend. This picture was taken Saturday and on Sunday I was able to get in some outside running in shorts and a t-shirt. Not to complain, but it actually got a little warm.

One of the errands that I had to run was to The Container Store. A new Container just opened up in my area and it was so nice. I wish I could buy everything, but don’t we all!

After all of my many errands, I raced back home to meet my mom for dinner and a movie. We decided to see August: Osage County with Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts. It was so good. A little depressing, but the acting was AMAZING. You guys know, I don’t use that word lightly.

Sunday was a day of laundry, recipe creation and cleaning up the house. Still a great day, though. Lots of goodies to share with you later this week, like this “cheese” cake. Guess what? It’s not really cheese…. I can’t wait to share this recipe with you.

Dinner was a Trader Joe’s original. I tasted the Teriyaki chicken and Japanese fried rice when I was in there on Saturday and it was great.

Easy and really delicious! I served some roasted asparagus and broccoli on the side. And you better believe I had some Raw Vegan “Cheese” Cake for dessert!

And that’s a wrap!

Something to think about…..

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun?

Have you seen August: Osage County? If so, what did you think?

Any fellow Body Pumpers out there?

Hope the start to your week is fabulous!

Those temperatures sound much nicer than the freezing cold we have been having here in Lexington. After watching some of the SAG awards last night I want to see that movie. I’m not a good movie person and actually havent seen any of the big ones they were talking about but I have always loved julia roberts and it sounds like a great movie.

I don’t think I’ve ever been in a Container Store, but I’m pretty sure I’d feel like a kid in a candy store if I ever set foot into one. I’m all about the home organization, and I can spend WAY too much time browsing things like that. As for my weekend, I spent most of my time snowboarding. We’ve been having some gorgeous weather here lately (although nowhere near as warm as yours), so I’ve been taking full advantage of it.

    Happy Monday, lovely lady! xox

I had no idea container stores even existed. How cool. I’ve been wondering about Meryl Streeps new movie. Good to hear you enjoyed it. Joshua and I watched 12 years a Slave on Saturday. My word – it was incredible, yet hard to watch at times. Definitely a must see if you haven’t already.

Looks like a wonderful weekend! The first run with shorts of the year is always amazing, am I right? :) And I’m guessing your cheesecake is either cashew-based?

My weekend was lovely–out to dinner on Friday, bootcamp on Saturday, and a long run on Sunday (along with a Seahawks NFC victory!). Have a wonderful Monday! xoxo
