5 Facts Friday

Happy Friday, guys!!!!! I’ve never done a “5 Facts Friday” post and I’ve got some random stuff to share, so I thought this would be the perfect Friday to join in.

1. We’ll start off with the most pressing topic of concern in my life…. my marathon is on Sunday. And that’s not all…. School has been closed in all areas around us and the weather channel is predicting this may be the worst ice storm in 40 years for Texas. The Dallas Marathon has not given official word, yet,  but there is a good chance the race could be canceled. This is very disappointing, but I don’t want to risk my life getting there either. Take a look at the current weather {Thursday night}!

2. I’m currently hunkered down by the fire, while the freezing rain comes down. Love cozy nights inside, by the fire, but not all of the hassles of ice on the roads. I’m actually trying to come up with a good soup or chili recipe and watching Sound of Music. Did you guys watch? I thought Carrie Underwood and the rest of the actors did a wonderful job singing, but I got a bit bored with it and this is coming from someone who absolutely loves the original movie. On another note…. we need some presents under the tree!

3. Justin Timberlake!!!! It was truly the best concert that I’ve ever been to, not that I’ve been to all that many. Seriously, though, a phenomenal show! If you have the chance to go see him, you should definitely take it. Landen and I had a great mother-son date night!

However next time I go to a concert during the week, I’ll take off (from work) the day of and day after. He didn’t finish until around midnight and I was one tired girl and then I had an hour-and-half drive back home from Dallas.

4. Our family Christmas cards came in the mail this week and I’m really happy with them. I ordered them from Minted.com. Since I won’t be going anywhere today, due to the weather, I’ll probably work on getting these ready to send off.

5. The next Conscious Cleanse starts in just one month, January 11th, and early bird registration opens up TODAY!! This will be the perfect time {after the holidays} to participate in a cleanse. I definitely plan on participating. Click here and use code EBCC114 for $25 off registration, valid today through Sunday, December 15th. If you’re interested in my thoughts on the cleanse, I have a whole page—–> here, on my experience.

Something to think about…..

Is it cold where you live? Any ice storms in your area? Stay warm, toasty and safe; if it is!

Do you send out Christmas/holiday cards? I always do…. they’re so much fun to give and receive.

Did you watch Sound of Music? What did you think?

What is the best concert you’ve ever seen?

Enjoy your Friday and weekend!!! Wish me luck with the marathon….. if it is still held.

We had a crazy 3-day storm in MN; I’m in Duluth. Schools cancelled classes, and we totalled around 26 inches I believe? The storm also made the top 10 worst storms! We are finally done with the snow falling, but we are experiencing extremely cold weather. I think the projected high for today is 3, but that doesn’t even include windchill!

I told my husband about that and he thinks it may be the same storm that came down to us. Sounds like it much worse there! Stay warm and safe!

It was cancelled and it is a bummer, but at least I don’t have to get out in this weather and run in 20 degree temps.

I love coming across people who still send out Christmas cards! I do every year, but it seems like it’s getting less and less common lately. So sad. There’s just something special about good old fashioned snail mail. And while I’m tempted to say that 30F isn’t cold at all (it’s currently -20F here), I know that’s probably pretty insane for Texas. But yeah… it’s freezing here, so I’ve been holed up inside, refusing to go out.

Haha…. every time I whine about the weather, I think about you guys up north. I know…. I know…. y’all have it way worse. 😉

Christmas cards just make me so happy. I love sending them to people, snail mail will never go out of style for me.
And I’m just a tad jealous of the JT concert! Sounds amazing.
It’s actually been the coldest we’ve ever had in a few years here! We got snow for about 5 minutes and I was all kinds of happy…now if only it would last for at least a day.
Ohhh, and good luck with the marathon!

Aww, Christmas cards are so fun! They definitely seem to be a bit of a dying art, so I’m sure people are extra appreciative of receiving them these days. We got a massive snow storm about 2 weeks ago, but these last 2 days we had a random warm front so all of our snow is gone! I’m not going to lie, I’m not terribly disappointed with unseasonable warmth 😉
Fingers crossed the weather clears up in time for your marathon!

It was 80 the day before the ice storm hit…. crazy weather!! The marathon was cancelled…. bummer, but I am glad that I won’t be running in 20 degree weather.

It sure is! Unfortunately, the race was cancelled. It’s a major bummer, but I wouldn’t want anyone risking their lives over it, plus I didn’t really want to run in 20 degree weather. 😉

I am seriously wishing good weather for you so you can both do your marathon and do it safely! We’ve had a weird mix of cold and rainy days mixed with really hot days it is summer here but the weather is just odd.

Looks like you had a great time at the concert!
