Hi, friends!! How was everyone’s weekend? I had a very marvelous weekend, indeed. Nothing too exciting, but it was a good one. I’m linking up with Katie from Healthy Diva Life to bring you my weekend update. Head on over to her blog to check out more marvelousness!
Friday was really low-key. I ran on the treadmill for about an hour when I got home from work and then we pretty much just all hung out together. Saturday was a fun day, though! I started it off with a 7 mile run around my neighborhood and what do you know, it actually felt like Fall out. It was an awesome run!
After my run, I headed to my normal Saturday Body Pump class. Since I’ve started marathon training, it’s really hard to fit in strength training. I’m pretty much relying on this weekly class to do the trick.
After Body Pump, I ran home to get ready for lunch out with my mom and sister. I always love our get togethers! Unfortunately, I didn’t get any pictures, but we had a great lunch and chat. Next, it was time to hit up the grocery store for my weekly haul….. make that three grocery stores… Costco, Trader Joe’s and Sprouts. Since I was out of town last weekend, we really needed to stock up. I was so excited to see that Trader Joe’s had Delicata Squash. I don’t remember them having it last year and it was such a great price. Needless to say, I stocked up!
Once the kiddos and I had completed all of that grocery shopping, we were pretty hungry and I was pretty tired. One last stop was our favorite…. Jason’s Deli! Love that place!
Sunday was a pretty uneventful day, except for the fact that I had a wonderful 13 mile run. The weather was beautiful again and my pace was under what my marathon plan suggests. The run actually felt better than a couple of weeks ago, when I ran 12.
While I felt absolutely wonderful during my run and even right after, things started to go downhill after my shower. I didn’t feel hungry right after running, so I showered and messed around for awhile. Lesson learned, I think not eating anything made me sick. I ate a little something and laid down for awhile. I started feeling better, thank goodness, and got in the kitchen to break out the pumpkin. It is now officially Fall, after all!
I also made some healthier Nutella-like chocolate spread. Madelyn loves Nutella, but I hate her eating so much sugar all of the time. She didn’t think she would like the homemade, but she approved!!
And even though it was the first day of Fall, we decided to grill out. I’m so glad we did! Hot dogs for the kiddos.
Chili lime turkey burgers for Brad and I. This burger recipe is from Iowa Girl Eats and it’s a keeper. I’ve made these burgers several times…. we love them! Don’t ya love the paper plates…. unfortunately, we are having dishwasher issues….ugh.
