To run with music or without……that is the question. People can be pretty passionate either way. I have experimented both ways and, for me, have found running WITH music to be much more effective. When I listen to music on my run, my pace is much quicker, my run seems to go by faster and I feel more motivated to continue running.
In fact, research shows that with the right song a nonelite runner can increase efficiency by 20% and reduce tiredness. One particular study reported that fast tempo songs work best (no surprise there).
Isn’t that just the best?!? 😉
