Thursday Things at Trader Joe's

Back to the daily grind this morning….Summer break is officially over for me. I don’t know how you people that work through the Summer do it. I guess it’s what you get used to. I work with some great people, so it will be nice to catch up with everyone.

Yesterday my daughters and I went to lunch at Jason’s Deli and then made a trip to Costco, Trader Joe’s and Sprouts…..whew what a day. Trader Joe’s is very new in our area (opened in June) and I’m lovin’ it. Lots of healthy food for low prices. Today I’m bringing you some tried and true favs.

These Chile Lime Chicken Burgers are fantastic. I cook mine up on a skillet in about 8 mins. The nutritional stats and ingredients are not too shabby either. Each patty only has 150 calories and 19 grams of protein and nothing that you can’t pronounce in the ingredients. I also love all of Trader Joe’s salad mixes. I usually go with organic….they have really good prices on their organic produce compared with other grocery stores. Kale is definitely something you should try adding to your diet. Check out these nutritional stats. My kids love chicken sausage, but you really have to check the ingredients and calories on these. Trader Joe’s brand passed the test. 😉

All of the above are wonderful and cheap! I love both the peppers and salsa in my salad for a mexican twist and those nectarines are sweet as can be.

I’ve never tried this almond meal, but it’s as cheap as I’ve ever seen. Almond meal can be around 10.00 and this was 3 something…..pretty big difference. I’m no wine connoisseur, believe me, but I really like this. It’s sweet and has a little bubbly to it and it’s only 6.50. Yes, please!!

Here’s my delicious salad from last night, using many of the above ingredients. That’s the Chile Lime Chicken Burger chopped in there; along with the roasted red & yellow peppers, avocado, sliced black olives nutritional yeast, tomatoes, broccoli and topped off with some crushed red pepper flakes and salsa verde. It was sooooo good!!!!!

What are your favorite products from Trader Joe’s?

Have a great Thursday everyone. Only two more days till the weekend!!

First of all, your salad looks SO delicious!! I wish we had a Trader Joe’s here… I live in Oklahoma and we JUST got a Whole Foods about two miles away from my house here in OKC, so that’s about the closest we have to a TJ! Are all of their products at really great prices? Secondly, that white wine looks fabulous! Is that your favorite brand? I definitely prefer white over red wine! And thirdly, I love white nectarines as well!! They blow the regular nectarines away! Hope you’re having a great weekend! :)

I would love to shop in a Whole Foods, the nearest one from me is about an hour. When I’m near it I’m usually shopping and I don’t mean grocery shopping! 😉 I think the best thing about Trader Joe’s is the prices for foods that are usually on the more expensive side. I’m pretty picky about alcohol and that is my favorite drink yet. It’s sweet and bubbly. Have a great week!
